ASSISTANT LEAD COTTAGE COORDINATOR – Wednesday — Saturday Shift Faith Cottage (Full-Time 12 month position)

The Assistant Lead Cottage Coordinator is a direct line staff position supervised by the Residential Director, Clinical Coordinator, and Residential Services Supervisor.  While on shift, the Assistant Lead Cottage Coordinator is to provide the other cottage staff with daily direction for all facets of cottage life, including but not limited to utilization of the behavior management system, transportation, overseeing meals and duties, and participating in recreation with residents.  Additionally, the Assistant Lead Cottage Coordinator is responsible along with the Social Worker for ensuring that individual treatment plans are carried out per treatment team requirements and that all facets of cottage life are monitored closely on a daily basis.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have the ability to intervene in a crisis situation.
  2. Must have sufficient academic abilities to support the student educationally.
  3. Must be able to demonstrate the capacity to understand young men and to develop further knowledge and skills working with young men in the care of Cedar Ridge.
  4. Must have excellent communication, organizing, and counseling skills to interact with the student and public school or Cedar Ridge residential staff.
  5. Must be able to function in a team environment to successfully complete objectives.
  6. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  7. Must have the ability to withstand the work and pressures of caring for a group of active, often aggressive young men, have the energy and physical ability to participate in activities and be
  8. lexible and willing to learn new ways of coping with problems.

Job Title:  OVERNIGHT AWAKE CHILD CARE WORKER (Full-time – Jordan House Sun to Thurs)

SUMMARY:  The ONA is a direct line staff position in Jordan House that is supervised by the Residential Director while the daily direction is given by the Lead Cottage Coordinator. The ONA is responsible to provide security and consistent supervision of residents during the night, assist other Child Care Staff with the morning routine, and complete the necessary paperwork in a timely manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 21 years of age or older
  2. Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  3. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to be alert and awake during normal sleeping hours of residents, and to make decisions in keeping with treatment team interventions
  5. Must have the ability to intervene in a crisis situation.
  6. Must demonstrate the capacity to understand children and to develop further knowledge and skills for working with children in the care of Cedar Ridge
  7. Must be able to withstand the work and pressures of caring for a group of active, often aggressive children, have the energy to participate in children’s activities, and be flexible and willing to learn new ways of coping with children’s problems.
  8. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  9. Must be able to function in a team environment to successfully complete objectives.

Facilities Assistant – Full-Time Position

This position is designed to provide assistance to the Facilities Department. This would include: drywall work; electrical, plumbing, woodworking, and mechanical work; supply pick-up and delivery; and assist with mowing, grounds keeping, and snow removal. This is a full-time (12 months 40 hours/week) position.

Job Qualifications:

In addition to the normal Cedar Ridge requirements the individual:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent – prefer vocational or specific job-related training.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
  • General knowledge and working ability in the following areas: Carpentry (finished and rough), plumbing, electrical, concrete work, drywall, painting, minor auto repair and maintenance, and grounds keeping and the physical ability to do this kind of work over a long period of time.
  • Must be a team player, willing to work under a supervisor and with peers and others in the agency in a cooperative manner to accomplish tasks.

IMMANUEL COTTAGE –  RESIDENTIAL YOUTH CARE COUNSELOR – (1 Full-Time position – Wednesday – Saturday)

The Residential Youth Care Counselor is a direct line staff position supervised by the Residential Supervisor.  While on shift, the YCC will receive daily direction from the Lead Cottage Coordinator for all facets of cottage life, including but not limited to utilization of the behavior management system, transportation, overseeing meals and duties, and participating in recreation with residents.

FLOATER – Relief Residential Youth Care Counselor – (Full-Time Hourly / 40 Hours Week position)

The Relief Residential Youth Care Counselor –Floater is a direct line staff position supervised by the Residential Director, Residential Services Supervisor and Clinical Coordinator.  While on shift, the Relief  RCYCP is to receive daily direction from the Lead Cottage Coordinator for all facets of cottage life, including but not limited to utilization of the behavior management system, transportation, overseeing meals and duties, and participating in recreation with residents.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 21 years of age and must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be certified or be eligible to be certified in Maryland as RCYCP, CPR/First Aid, Med Tech, Restraint
  3. Must have a valid driver`s license and maintain a good driving record.
  4. Must have the ability to intervene in a crisis situation.
  5. Must be able to demonstrate the capacity to understand young men and to develop further knowledge and skills working with young men in the care of Cedar Ridge
