The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will give a free presentation to help area churches know how to become more secure and be better prepared for emergencies. All houses of worship need to be alert to today’s threats and learn workable strategies from law enforcement.
The workshop, “Safeguarding Houses of Worship”, will be given on September 25 from 9 AM to Noon at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Fellowship Center at 18313 Lappans Road, south of Hagerstown.
The program will include the introduction of a new phone app for houses of worship. The app is provided through the National Institute of Justice. Washington County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore and Sargeant James Holsinger will demonstrate the app and allow time for participation.
